WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. – TRAX’s commitment to customer value in products and services led TRAX at White Sands Missile Range on a year-long quality initiative, culminating in ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification.
These efforts included building a quality management system to formally maintain and continually improve Work Assignment Order (WAO) and software development processes. On February 03, 2016, TRAX received ISO 9001:2015 certification from the international accrediting body BSI Group.
“It provides us with valuable insight into our processes and allows us to continually improve those processes,” said Engineering Department Manager, Joe Stufflebeam.
ISO provides a number of requirements, which an organization needs to fulfill if it is to achieve customer satisfaction through consistent products and services that meet customer expectations.
“This ISO certification further cements our understanding of the real tasking at White Sands Missile Range, as our ISO certificate is customized to WSMR” said Media Services Department Supervisor, Daniel Lopez.
Requirements in ISO 9001 include monitoring processes to ensure they are effective, keeping adequate records, checking output for defects, regularly reviewing individual processes and the quality system for effectiveness, and facilitating continuous improvement.
“This is a big accomplishment for this organization and I’m proud of the commitment that everyone under our ISO scope has shown throughout this process,” said Configuration Management Coordinator, Louis Calderon. “Our customer can feel confident that TRAX follows a standard approach to meeting requirements, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our quality system to become better, faster, and more cost effective.”
TRAX is the largest on-site contractor at WSMR and provides engineering, technical, operation, maintenance, research and other support services of facilities, systems, and equipment to meet test operations missions.
